Crawley Town vs Swindon Town: Match Preview

Swindon Town will be looking to make it three wins in a week with an away trip to John Yems Crawley Town side on Saturday afternoon.

Swindon Town made it back-to-back home wins on Tuesday night with another hard-fought solid performance against a depleted Sutton United side who gave a very good account of themselves under the circumstances.

It was another much-needed win as it is getting ridiculously tight for the race for the top three in league two. Northampton who are on second on sixty-three points to Bristol Rovers in seventh with Sixty points, just three points separate six teams. Even with Forest Green Rovers wobble at the top of the table, the gap to them has only been cut to six points.

Swindon will be without Louis Reed for the trip to Crawley after his sending off in added time on Tuesday night. Reed was sent off for two yellows with the latter being booked for simulation in the Sutton United penalty box. Louis Reed will miss tomorrow trip and the trip to Rochdale. Questionable call from the referee, do not think it was even a booking nor a penalty. The Sutton United goalkeeper got to the ball. Not the worse call from Tuesday night, there was quite a few others which were strange. Ben Garner confirmed that Jake O’Brien is back in the squad after recovering from his knock he picked up in the 1-0 win over Oldham Athletic.

After tomorrow away game against Crawley, Swindon Town have a free two weeks after next week game against Forest Green Rovers was called off due to international call ups. This could be a blessing in disguise as it gives time to the injured player to come back and add squad depth going into a busy last five to six weeks of the season.
