One down. But what a one it was! It was the perfect & much needed start against Scunthorpe with one clean sheet, two clinical goals, three points and fourth place in the league.

Yes it’s just one game but an away win on the opening day hopefully sets the stall for the season. Start as you mean to go on and all that.

Keshi Anderson was on the naughty step but when asked to get off and do what was necessary, he delivered. Is this a forgive and forget?

Woolery, Isgrove and Yates to compliment aswell…it could be the ingredients we require. But then remember Cureton and Thorpe? Less said the better and I’m sure that won’t happen.

We played a EFL trophy game against Chelsea Under 21s and the score was 3-2 to them. Moving on.

This weekend sees competitive football back at the County Ground against Carlisle who won their opening game of the season.

If there is one thing that has to happen this year at the home games it’s positive vibes.

Nothing feels worse than a depressed or lacklustre County Ground. Teams will come to us looking to hold on, shut the shop with a lock, throw the key away.

We have to stay with the team for 90 minutes and I feel we may have some tight encounters this season and we need to get off on the right foot with a win, nothing less to set the mood.

Momentum is talked about a lot in football and I’m sure we’ll have moments in the season when we have bad patches, that’s football, but how the team and fans react I feel will be crucial.

If we can all keep the feel good factor going, maybe we can look up the League Two table rather than down it or just wondering where in the middle we are.
