Trust STFC statement on recent developments at the County Ground
Trust STFC applauds Swindon Town’s recent decision to re-engage with the Swindon Advertiser.
As a group of fans who passionately follow our football club, we are always searching for news, views and information and having open communication between the club and the town’s major print and online media outlet can only help provide that.
We as a Trust feel that the club, its fans and community should not feel detached from or threatened by one another and we hope air-clearing talks between the respective parties continue smoothly.
The Trust enjoys an open and communicative relationship with the Advertiser and we have benefited tremendously as a result – through the exposure generated and the subsequent word of mouth.
We believe the club will also benefit, with the Adver having tremendous scope to advertise Town to the next generation of fans and remarket it for those whose interest has lagged.
The Trust would also like to welcome Tim Sherwood to the club. His is a signing which has certainly made people sit up and take notice, and he if off to a great start.
In time we would like to sit down with Tim and chairman Lee Power and discuss ways in which we, as fans and as a Trust, can help build the club.
We have plenty of ideas, an abundance of energy and a group of volunteers who want to create a legacy for future generations of Swindon supporters.
